magic question
say there's something that keeps someone alive in their world and if it doesn't exist, they don't
do you think it's possible to still exist in another world without it? like there's any chance that they just can
or does something have to keep them there on purpose
i get this is weird but i don't know a lot about magic
anyway thanks

we have people who sometimes come back like that too. back where i'm from. they died but instead of moving on or turning into a fiend, they looked and acted like other people. but you could still take them out
what i'm talking about is... say there's people that could make other people. but those people only existed if the ones who made them were around. you live and die and everything about you is like everyone else but if anything happens to them, you fade. you can't exist
can a new world be an anchor? or do they need something else to give them an anchor? like the people who made them did
[ Does he make sense? Is he asking too much? Is he sounding too close like he's trying to talk about something he shouldn't? But he just wants any other answers that he isn't finding in his own head. ]
Ooops forgot my htmls
[He's seen plenty of big guys go down and then all their followers just fade out.]
If that person is here, I suspect this place would be an anchor point. Now, I do wonder how it manages to carry a lotta magics from a lotta places, laws of science that wouldn't line up back home that line up here. There's a pretty solid base that can support all that, so I reckon it can easily handle the presence of a person who isn't. Lots of dead folk showing up alive here, after all.
text html always a butt tbh
unfading?
i hope you're right though. i mean i guess you are if i'm here and it's all that really makes sense
i just wish i knew more. about myself

but talking about it helped. i appreciate it. you sound like you know some weird stuff and it gave me something to think about. so thanks
NOT THIS TIME, VILLAIN HTML
He had this friend, though? Nice guy. One of those disgustingly nice guys you know's gonna get let down by the world. Always the noble type, remembers the name of everyone he meets. Worries he won't live up to what people expect. This guy died chasin' his reflections through alternate timelines.
So the first guy? Builds a whole big time machine to bring him back. I crunched the numbers for him so we knew it'd work. He couldn't do it on his own, he needed someone that could go in and anchor him to multiple universes and multiple timelines though. So the man got his friend back.
Point being I've seen that reality-universe-timeline anchor point nonsense work before.

i haven't heard ANYTHING like this before
he went to different worlds to get his friend back in one? multiple timelines? like going into the past and future as different reflections and that made sure his friend came back for sure?
[ someone doesn't know about different timelines, send help ]
You can drop this if you need but I seriously didn't even get a notif for this tag.
Also he still had to ask for that help. He needed to man the sundail while he sent someone else in. It took two people.
Anchors are tricky, but once you got a good one established you don't got to worry none. Having an anchor problem now, Brother?
i am always happy to roleplay with you :)
is there a way to check?
[ That's the important part. ]

Maybe.
There's a few tests that can be run.
See if you're on the same plane of existence as us.
See if your body chemistry is about the same as most other people's of the same race.
If you got abilities, see if they're comin' from the same place.

[ He wants some privacy, even if it doesn't take all eyes off them (really, the pair he should care about). But, after a few minutes: ]
-i have no idea how to do the first thing you said
-i doubt there's anyone here like me. i look human but i'm from a dream. that's why i need help sticking around [ And what delayed him the most in sending this message. ]
-i can use magic but i don't know if it's working the same it did back home. it's part you and part the pyreflies in the air. but i've never seen any pyreflies here and my magic is harder to use anyway
[ He knows why that is, but if there's actually more to it...? It's hard to say. And he doesn't want to admit to it getting better over the network. ]

So tell me about your world, and how you found out what you were attached to before. Because it could be as simple as looking at your cells through a microscope or it could be as complicated as seeing if you leave a temporal imprint.
[He doesn't mention the chip. Not topics for network conversation.]

okay. this is the best i understand it
we have summoners and then something called the fayth. they're the souls of...people that help summoners create things. i think? there was a giant summon taking place that made an entire city and that's where i come from. the rest of the world didn't know about us and the fayth called us a dream
when the fayth woke up the city and the people disappeared
i ended up outside the dream and found out later what i was when the fayth told me. that was before they woke up

I've got some experience in the residue souls leave. Sounds like a strange thing to know something about, but there are alien scholars that can teach you some things.
[Though the Hive aren't exactly pleasant about it.]
So you only knew when the fayth told you? No sign before that?

that kinda sense to me. don't know if it's the same but there's ruins where the things called pyreflies gather. they repeat the memories of the people who went through there
[ Maybe it was similar, maybe not. He still isn't sure he fully understands his own world. ]
i had no idea until then. no one else knew either. they said being touched by sin (long story) made me real, but i think that just meant i was able to exist outside the dream. i still went when the fayth woke

So as of now, I'm guessin' your anchored the same as the rest of us. But check in with a doctor to look at you under a microscope. Maybe a friend who can do some energy research. And if that ain't enough? I'll take a look too. I got a pretty useful scanning device.

[ Not really a visit he's ever had to have. ]
i know a guy who knows magic pretty well. i'll ask him if he can help. but i'll ask you if we're not sure
which thanks. for the offer and all this help
no subject
Yeah, no problem.
Honestly, Brother, any place that pulls from so many realities and maintains powers has gotta have a hell of a convoluted sense of physics. Sounds like a fun thing to dig into once you get going.

maybe it's why the city's so weird. i haven't got a clue

i like the people part. i don't always get what's normal for other people but i never thought of life outside the city i grew up in. i never questioned it
now i'm reading someone telling me about someone jumping around time to save a friend
it's wild

[He's sure they're both very aware of this place's shortcomings.]
Too bad he ain't here. He gets real talkative about this kinda thing. Full of himself, too. His buddy's quick to put him back in his place, though.
Figure the universe knew they needed to both be around to keep things in balance.
