Good Afternoon everyone listening. I would first like to take a second to introduce myself. I am Dr. Michael Morbius, now, some of you will know that name and will raise some concerns, allow me to ease your mind and say that I have left the past behind me as I hope you all have in this new world we live in. At the same time, if you give me trouble, I will return it in kind. With that out of the way, allow me to return to my point.

I would like to ask, voluntarily of course, if any of you who wish to help me with a bit of research here... I need your blood.

[ Dramatic pause, because those fangs are very visible. ]

I have a few subjects who have allowed me samples before the vaccine came out, and a few others after. That said I have noticed a difference enough that I wish to have samples to keep for those of us brought from the other world to monitor for further changes.

No, before you ask, I will not be drinking them. This is science not my dinner. I could state my credentials or you can trust the man in the coat who earned his degrees while most of you were still nursing. Now, do I have anyone willing?

[the day after the robot uprising, after power’s been restored and the streets have been swept clean, jason’s here on the network with something to say about it - carefully, of course. he knows they’re being watched and he knows this is likely to put a target on his back, but that’s basically the story of his life. hasn’t stopped him before and it won’t stop him now.]

This city’s the third place I’ve been shipped off to since the last time I was home, and you know one thing that’s been the same everywhere? Sooner or later, there’s always some kind of weird and terrible attack waiting to happen.

[maybe a philosopher or social scientist would posit a hypothesis about the nature of living based on similar observations, but jason’s no philosopher. he’s a man of action, unwilling to sit back and do nothing when he sees a problem he knows how to fix.]

I used to teach self-defense in the last place I got shuffled off to, and I’m thinkin’ it’s time for class to be back in session. I don’t have a place yet, and I know some of us already know how to fight. Some of us’ve even got special abilities - metahumans, mutants, or you got some kinda upgrade from one of the shops here. But you can always learn more, and you always need more practice. I dunno about the rest of you, but I’m sick of seeing people get hurt or killed ‘cause they don’t know how to fight back when the weird and terrible things attack. So I’m gonna show anyone who wants to know how to fight back. And if any of you wanna help? The more the merrier.

[ in all honesty, they haven't gotten far. aqua is sure they really haven't. but somehow in their decision to explore a little of the world outside the bounds of the city they have gotten themselves turned around. and without their gliders fully functioning, well... finding their way has proven more difficult than usual.

uncharacteristically, they have both been out of touch with friends and acquaintances and aqua doesn't even think to use the network, mostly because the most important person in any world is right here with her. eventually, though, it dawns on her that maybe they should at least check in with their friends, let everyone know that they haven't disappeared.

so it is with that in mind that she starts up a video on the network, with ven somewhere nearby. the backdrop is the forest. where in the forest? nobody really knows. they sure don't. but aqua at least looks apologetic when she appears on screen. ]

Looks like we lost a bit of time. Sorry to anyone who might have worried about us. Ven and I are fine.

[ she glances to the side at ven, leaving it open for him to respond if he wants. ]

[Aqua might blame herself, but Ven knows he carries a share of it, too. They both messed up here; they'll both deal with the consequences. So he doesn't hide when Aqua finishes her piece, reaching out to grab her phone from her and give a wave and a sheepish smile into it.]

Sorry, guys - I guess we aren't that great at directions here, at least not yet. If anyone's been worried, we're fine. Did we miss anything?
