Good morning my fellows along for a rather interesting ride. My name of Nida Nomura, and I was until recently a resident of a lovely [and oh the depth of the sarcasm in his voice, so deep, so strong, if his sarcasm was water you could host an Olympic diving competition in it.] little village with terrible little armbands and colors and oh boy the doppelgängers.

I think there are more of us here than I had expected, because I could swear I keep running into you. Figure we should figure out who from our wonderful little home is here. Who knows, maybe even throw together another Young Adult Club meeting, with music this time.

Yeah. Gotham City: Here be monsters. Sounds about right. People there do their best, but... it's not always enough.

Your monsters at least speak your language. I have heard some really crazy stories about your world. Mine is probably better. Which always confuses me.

It doesn't happen every day, but it's also not unheard of. People are weird.

Yeah, that isn’t just ‘weird’. Still holding Gotham as a place I would never go. Because I would be too driven to beating people up to clean up the streets.

We have an entire vigilante brand that you would probably fit in pretty well with.

Who, Bruce? I guess he's not for everyone, but I'm not really sure where he comes into things. I guess he does sponsor Batman, but that's about it.

Who is Bruce? I’ve heard of the Batputz from a few people taking about Gotham. Figured you’re all connected to him. So he’s like, your mentor’s funded vigilante? How does that work?

Being a vigilante the way he is requires a lot of expensive specialized equipment. Money doesn't grow on trees, but Bruce's family has always been pretty invested in the city. I guess it was a pretty logical step to make sure the guy helping out had the tools he needed.

[Who is Bruce?

Ha, ha.]

That is probably not legal. Right?

Technically? Not really. But Batman's activities have been tolerated in Gotham for a long time.

He hurt someone I care about. I’ll pass on Batputz. But I’m sure your Bruce guy is nice enough. If misguided.

I think "misguided" is the kindest way anyone back home would describe him.

He's kind of an idiot.

That probably isn’t a good thing in a rich person, right? I have to wonder how he hasn’t been arrested if it’s a public secret that he finances a loon.

Honestly, the "wear their underwear outside their tights" crowd is pretty well accepted worldwide where we're from, not just in Gotham. Between that and the actual supervillains wrecking regular havoc, arresting an eccentric billionaire for the way he chooses to spend his money is pretty low on the priority list.

Wear what outside of their who now? Dear Hyne what a terrible fashion choice.

Still, I suppose I can sort of understand your point when you put it that way.

it does put the whole caped vigilante thing in perspective once you consider how accepted it all is.

And yes. The fashion choices are something else.
