[ In the hectic mess that was the capture and executions of the Heart, it would be easy to overlook one captured vampire. The doctor for the chosen, those brought in. The doctor fired for sticking his neck out to try and solve a case.
Jason Todd's roommate.
Michael had a bad habit of not coming home for days, and working himself half to death, but, no contact had been made at all, even his phone seemed to be off. The thing with Michael is he can't die. He's tried, others have tried. But what better to do with a rebel with more degrees than personality?
The television feed that opened in every visible place had the Mayor standing before the very hospital that Michael had been fired from. ]
Good afternoon, dualizens! I hope everyone is doing well and getting back to business as usual! We have decided to come to you today to let you know that the hospital is finally back in working order, the head doctor who parished in a Heart attack finally has a proper replacement.
[ From the shadow, Michael walks out, his red eyes lacking their usual glow, he looks a little less animated but in the best suit anyone would have ever seen him in. His hair slicked back and his color was finally looking like he had properly fed. ]
I am sure some of you know the decorated Doctor Michael Morbius! He will be stepping in to help as much as he can! Let's have a round of applause. Dr. Morbius, would you like to speak?
[ Michael nodded stepping forward, his clawed fingers taking the microphone. ]
Good evening, one and all. I would first like to say hello, and a thank you to the Mayor for my new job. It has always been my dream to help everyone I can, and now I have this ability thanks to our wonderful government. Despite my earlier thoughts, I have found there is no reason to worry, and nothing to really question. The government is here to help us all.
[ He smiled, his smile hiding his fangs, nothing like his true smile. ]
To my fellow chosen, I want to extend an invitation to come and get the latest update for the virus that I have created, of course everyone is welcome, but outsiders need this more. I thank you all for your time.
p[ He gives a sweeping dramatic bow, before turning to walk into the hospital as the video concludes. ]

Hey man, congratulations. How's, uh... how's it going?

[ Had Steph even been told yet that Vergil left her everything. ]

I'm... sorry, what? What grapevine is this? And why am I not a part of it?

Who are the proper people? I've never... inherited anything before. Or had more than like $100 in the bank. Or heard anything about there being a mafia in town?
Shouldn't there be like, a lawyer telling me this stuff or something? For that matter, if the money came from a criminal shouldn't the city have, like, frozen the assests or whatever? Confiscated it? Done, you know... legal stuff? To it?
[ Aside from the mafia bit her confusion here is very real. ]

[ She is now thoroughly off balance. Thanks, pal. ]
Um, I guess I'm doing alright... Good luck at the new job. Hope you, you know, make friends and stuff.

[Another one to get him. He'd noticed he was gone but couldn't do much about it. Hadn't confirmed or denied anything. But now this is a hell of a confirmation: The strange goth nineties escapee he used to enjoy bonding with and teasing is gone.]
[Michael wasn't just a resource for help. He was a good dude with overly dramatic fashion and speech and he had exaggeratedly fancy handwriting and presented himself like he just walked out of a crypt.]
[Now, the hard part here is that he knows there's a shit ton of viral knowledge they might be able to dig out. But, right now? He just feels sick. Probably a good time to go break that drinking alone rule, right?]

But sure, fill me in on the updates. You're talking shop and you got me curious.

Why don't you come in and we can talk in person?

[This place is such a mess.]
I got patients, Doc. I'm in the field too. Why don't you humor me?

Maybe some other time. I heard they have some recordings of some old Earth sitcoms. Maybe a binge-watch will fix that crippling humor situation.

Sadly, I'll have to decline the virus. I feel just fine. Congrats on the promotion, though. I'm sure none better deserved it.

[ Oh before they got him, Michael and Loki would have been a hot mess.]
