I dunno, if you bring cocoa along with you I think that'll keep the complaints down to a minimum.

They want all of each other safe. And having a safe place, where they can all check in, helps ensure that. It also has nothing to do with thinking her weak or incapable, Seifer knows better, but he and Squall are also trained to be defensively minded. Her kindness and gentleness does have some to do with it though.
